I have to admit the process of getting quotes for insurance can be extremely time consuming. I have spent a great deal of time in the last two days doing this and it was not as easy as one might hope however the pay off can be well worth it. If you have not done this for several years it’s worth the effort to check at least what options there are out there. I have to warn you though, you have to very careful to make sure that you are comparing apples to apples. A lot of the online instant quote places for instance Geico will ask you some questions and spit out a quote BUT you have to really look at what coverage they gave you. My husband’s truck is paid off but worth at least 8K if not more so I want comprehensive on it but the quote only covered collision and the deductibles on the vehicles were $1000 instead of the $500 we have right now. My best recommendation for people on the go who are trying to do this is ask for all the quotes, you can probably get some done during your lunch hour for a couple days and then over the weekend when you have time to really concentrate on what is in front of you review them all. We were able to save about three hundred dollars a year on our car insurance by switching and the jury is still out on the homeowners insurance. I haven’t got all the quotes back for that yet, I’ll let you know how that all worked out. Still even if I only saved three hundred dollars on the car insurance it was well worth my time and effort.
