How to Make Chinese Pot Stickers

I love Chinese food, don’t you?  I don’t care for the MSG though and salt and I can control these things when I make it myself.  We generally have these pot stickers, fried rice and sweet and sour shrimp, I did a post on that awhile back, if you’d like to try that:  https://yankeefrugalist.com/2016/11/02/sweet-and-sour-shrimp/

Pot Stickers Recipe

1 Package of Wonton Wrappers

1 pound of ground pork

1 Tablespoon Finely Chopped Ginger

1 Tablespoon Finely Chopped Garlic

Salt and Pepper to taste

3 Tablespoons Olive Oil

1/2 Cup Water

Mix the meat, ginger, garlic, salt and pepper together.  It is recommended that you do this at least a few hours ahead of time up to the day before so that the flavors will get into the meat.  Moisten the edged of the wrapper with water, place one teaspoon of filling in the middle and fold over.  Pinch edges.  Heat olive oil on medium high heat in fry pan that has a cover.  Brown the bottom of the pot stickers.  Once browned add water and cook uncovered for two minutes.  Cover pan and turn heat to low.  Cook 5 more minutes.
